Text Box: FIVE STAR! Text Box: Lorraine Williams Pratt Little Wonders Playhouse Family Child Care Home Owner Welcome to the Website of Little Wonders Playhouse Family Child Care Home! I would like to introduce myself to all whom haven’t met me personally. My name is Lorraine Williams-Pratt and I am the proud owner, director and education provider for Little Wonders Playhouse Family Child Care Home. Observing our commitment towards excellence; Little Wonders is a Five Star North Carolina Licensed family childcare home. We also participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to provide nutritious meals and snacks to the children in our care. My husband and I are the proud parents of three sons. The eldest age 29 is married and working on his doctorate degree in Sociology, our second is 22, he’s a fitness trainer and our third child, age 6, is a first grader. Raising my own children and working with other children brings me the greatest pleasure. Helping children learn and explore, while growing socially, physically, intellectually and emotionally through play is very rewarding work. After nearly twenty years of working in the field of Chemistry, I decided to change my career and pursue my dream to work with children. Subsequently, I graduated from Housatonic Community College (Connecticut) with a focus on Early Childhood Education and Development. I also have additional training and certification including but not limited to First Aid and CPR training, teaching and care for medically complex children. After owning a home based family childcare program in my home state for two years, our family relocated to Mint Hill, NC. Before opening our child care home in North Carolina was a lead teacher at the Sunshine House in Mint Hill, North Carolina (2007). Now open for nearly three years, Little Wonders Playhouse has developed into a thriving family child care home. Several children have graduated and have made successful transitions to Kindergarten - leaving my care well prepared for school! Our child care program has also grown steadily. Why? Because of our past success with our graduates and the quality care and the personal attention we devote to each child.
